Occasionally when people work in the videogame industry for a number of long years they crave something new; a new challenge. For veterans of EA they decided enough was enough; they left to form Supergiant Games – an independent studio focused on smaller budget titles with a lot more creative freedom.

Bastion is the first title to come out of Supergiant’s stable house. A beautiful, watercolour adventure with a strong narrative presence – and with a voiceover throughout narrating all of your actions. It’s a game with a strong story; and a lot of unexpected twists and excellent gameplay to boot. A diablo type game about smashing things, collecting things and having a great time doing it. Bastion is a fantastic experience and a game that I would recommend to anyone – especially considering it’s on iPhone, iPad, Xbox 360 and PC – there’s no excuse not to pick the game up.
