It is likely to come to a point in your childs’ childhood that they start asking for expensive consoles, but choosing the right one for them can be challenging for the parent. You will likely be saving up to be able to purchase this for them for their birthday or Christmas. So, how can you ensure you choose the right console for your child?
Firstly, you should speak to them. Speaking to your child lets them express what their likes are. What console is their preference and why they would like it? This can help you to think about purchasing the one they have their eyes on.
You can also speak to other parents of your childs’ friends or with kids of a similar age. See what consoles they have and whether they would recommend them. This will help you to know that other parents recommend the console and that your child will be able to play with their friends.

New gaming consoles are being released more often than not. With as soon as a brand releases its newest console they are already working on a new console to be released in the next year or so. It can become extremely expensive if you upgrade your console every time a new one is released, so is it always worth it buying the upgrade?
From a gaming lover, my answer will always be no, it is not always worth upgrading your console every time a new one is released. Sometimes there are no differences in the way that the console works, the only changes surround the look of the console. For example, making it slimmer, introducing new colours, or just an overall new look. Now, if this is the case, it will not be worth you upgrading your console as you will not be receiving any new features for the new cost.
On the contrast, if you are someone who does always want the newest console, or wants a new look for your current console. It may be worth you upgrading, Whilst you will be spending a lot of money if it is something that will keep you happy then go for it.
When looking to upgrade to the newest console you should always do your research. You should know the currents stats of the console you are using, comparing these to the console that you are looking to purchase. This will help you to decide if you want to pay the extra upfront cost for this new console.
There are many aspects you should consider when upgrading your console. It is not as simple as there’s a new console so it is going to be better. Always do your research to ensure it will be worth every penny spent.

Owners of the Sony PS4 will be pleased to hear the announcement of the new software update 1.70. Sony have revealed that the firmware update will be available for download on Wednesday 30th April.
Some of the main features of this new update will be to make edits of the videos they capture in the app called SHAREfactory, allowing them to be simply exported via an external drive. This means that gamers can easily upload and share their video content on such sites as YouTube.
The capture protection will also be able to be tuned off, which was not available in the last version with the HDCP off feature.
Another key features gamers are looking forward to is the ability to pre-download new titles before the release date. This means that as soon as the game is officially released the game will be unlocked and ready to play.

With the Christmas period cooling down, and more people having purchased next generation consoles (whether it is a ps4 or an Xbox One) talk has already began about the next generation redesigns.
Every popular games console over the last decade has come with a redesign. Even the original PlayStation came with a cuter, smaller and curvier design. And even before that the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) again came with a smaller redesign.
Redesigns do not tend to include major internal developments; however the Playstation 2 had firmware updates, a smaller body and tweaked internals along with a much smaller design. Redesigns are likely to be already underway and it will be interesting to see which next gen console has benefited more from a redesign out of the Playstation 4 (PS4) or the Xbox One.

Each time a new console is released; there are certain extras that always seem to be purchased immediately after, such as a second controller, or rechargeable controller wire.
With the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, pretty much everything you require is included, but there are some additional extras you may want to consider.
The Kinect sensor is a big one for the Xbox and it tracks your body movement, recognises your face, listens to your voice, and essentially lets you play games with your body movements alone. Another popular addition for the Xbox is the play and charge kit, it’s extremely well priced and it means you’ll never have to worry about searching your home for more batteries.
The Playstation 4 camera, allowing for unique video chats with your friends and other online gamers. It could be important to look at various console bundles to get all of the necessary kit and equipment, that way you can actually sit down and play your console without having to run back out for the essential extras.
