It can be difficult for someone who has a relation with someone who has gaming as a hobby to be accepting. When all you want is to be able to spend quality time with them, yet all they want to do is sit and play on their games. This is where you need to become more accepting. Sometimes the way to get them out of their gaming habit is to think of an activity you can do together that they will enjoy. Maybe try inviting them to an escape room that will be fun for both of you. You need to understand that it will take time to get them away from their gaming as this is where they may feel the safest, it’s where they can be themselves. So gradually introduce them to alternative ways to spend time with you.

One of the easiest ways to help them is to talk to them. Make them aware that you are worried about the amount of time they are spending on their games and how you wish they would spend more time with their family. A few simple words may be all it takes to get them away from the screen and spending time with their family.

Understand Them
You also need to be very understanding. When talking to your child, listen. They may have something to say which will help you understand why they are spending more time playing games. Maybe they feel uncomfortable? Maybe they are being bullied so this is their escape? Maybe they feel more accepted in the online world? Listen to them and understand where they are coming from, don’t just punish them.

Solve The Problem
If from your chat you discover that your child is using gaming as an escape from any form of life issue. Use this time to solve this issue for your child. Find a way to help them, overcome their current struggle. Do all you can to make them feel as if the world away from the computer is okay to be around.

Once all other steps have been taken, introduce time limits to your child. Allow them to still play their games but ask if they can spend a certain amount of time a day away from their games. From a gaming lover, my answer will always be no, it is not always worth upgrading your console every time a new one is released. Sometimes there are no differences in the way that the console works, the only changes surround the look of the console. For example, making it slimmer, introducing new colours, or just an overall new look. Now, if this is the case, it will not be worth you upgrading your console as you will not be receiving any new features for the new cost.

On the contrast, if you are someone who does always want the newest console, or wants a new look for your current console. It may be worth you upgrading, Whilst you will be spending a lot of money if it is something that will keep you happy then go for it.

When looking to upgrade to the newest console you should always do your research. You should know the currents stats of the console you are using, comparing these to the console that you are looking to purchase. This will help you to decide if you want to pay the extra upfront cost for this new console.

There are many aspects you should consider when upgrading your console. It is not as simple as there’s a new console so it is going to be better. Always do your research to ensure it will be worth every penny spent.
